Little known fact about #Roscoe the Lion @TCNJ: he’s been our mascot since way back in 1934, when the editor of the yearbook, Joe Satalof, put the #lion on the seal! Now you can find Roscoe the Lion all over campus, saying hello to students and professors. #JPW250S19 pic.twitter.com/LU90bpFmBt

One of my favorite parts about @TCNJ is the beautiful #sunsets you can find all the time. Right from outside the Travers and Wolfe residence halls, you can get the prettiest view! Here’s a #picture I took from the other day. #JPW250S19 pic.twitter.com/fLuuTPXwfw

The #lake right by Armstrong Hall on the @TCNJ campus is such a beautiful spot to study in between classes or read a good book! It’s especially scenic during #sunset, as seen in this picture. Highly recommend! #JPW250S19 pic.twitter.com/YwIUKhxOPS

#JPW250s19 Vice President – New Hire Manager of @MerrillLynch Louie Bottone says working in Ewing is a “fantastic area” to work, in part because it allows him to #recruit local @TCNJ students! Sounds great, Louie! Photo from @facebook. pic.twitter.com/A2b0NiJHOp

@TCNJ sophomore psychology major Rachel Cherry explains why her favorite #restaurant is @panerabread in Campus Town! The caesar salad and Mac and cheese is always her go-to. #JPW250S19 pic.twitter.com/fX0Kfj3Wdt

Here are my favorite tweets from classmates:
TCNJ sophomore Madeline Stahl loves Panera Bread as a go-to spot for a tasty lunch or a quick coffee break. “I like to come here for coffee before my really difficult classes.” #JPW250s19 pic.twitter.com/pI38y1Anbg

Freshman psychology major, Camille Germo, says her favorite spot to eat nearby is, luckily, just on the outskirts of campus. Newly opened Frutta Bowls has become a hot spot for many people both off and on the TCNJ campus. #JPW250s19 pic.twitter.com/Xqe3x86dbu

“The college community is great to work with, but we also have to operate longer because of college kids. I have to come up with different products to appeal to college students like açaí bowls, whereas other locations don’t require that.” – Art Havier, Red Berry #JPW250s19 pic.twitter.com/sCOx5jLM4r

Reflection:
What I really liked about this project was just learning how to use twitter to one’s advantage in everyday life. A simple tweet can get no response or generate a lot of clicks, depending on certain things. I never really used Twitter before this activity, so I’m glad that it taught me the basics. The element of tweeting that I found to be most influential was utilizing hashtags. I found it fairly easy to use hashtags in a casual way by embedding them into my tweet.
I also really enjoyed responding to other people’s tweets during this activity. It made the whole experience feel much more like a conversation, which is something you don’t really get on other social media platforms like Instagram.
I think the most challenging part for me, however, was applying text to the video I uploaded. I didn’t want to just copy what was said in the video, but wanted to still have it directly relate to it. I think I could still work on this and get more creative with it.
Another thing that was challenging for me was figuring out how to navigate the app in the first place. I’ve never used Twitter before, so this was new for me. Overall, however, I really like this social media platform and how it can be used!
