Louise – From this experience I learned that everyone sees the campus differently and finds different things about it interesting. There were many parts of TCNJ, Ewing, and Trenton that I hadn’t paid much attention to until we started talking with other students about them. It seemed that each person we talked with had their own positive aspect about the area that they appreciated. We didn’t just talk with students either, but business owners as well which made the project even more interesting. There are still many different areas, clubs, and activities to invest time into learning about . I think using the platform of Twitter also made the assignment more interesting. Since I do not actively use Twitter, it was a new experience to be posting information about the area through this forum. The way tweets are structured is very different from the way a paper is structured because tweets are so much shorter so it was a new way of writing for me. Also, tweets are supposed to grab the reader and make them want to learn more about the event so I had to think about how to quickly make the event seem interesting without making the tweet too wordy with information about it. Overall, it was an interesting and new experience that I enjoyed.

Veronica- This experience definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone, but it taught me a lot about the area. Since I just transferred here this semester, I didn’t know too much about the campus or even the school itself. Having to explore the campus and talk to different people made me realize just how much I didn’t know and how much there is still to learn, but now I know a little bit more. Going to new places and talking to people I don’t know was a little nerve-wracking but it was a fun experience overall. I liked talking to local businesses like Redberry as it was interesting to learn more about it, plus getting to know the manager made me want to try eating there soon. I also really enjoyed seeing tweets from my classmates. I learned about so many new places on campus to study or to just enjoy, as well as different places to eat on campus, in Campustown, and in Ewing. It was definitely a great experience, especially for someone new to the school. I got to see firsthand the interesting things about TCNJ and what sets it apart from other colleges, and I got to learn what interests my peers which in turn sparked my own interest. Now I can’t wait to continue exploring the campus to see what else I might find.

Jamie- Overall, I enjoyed this assignment. It was fun to explore TCNJ while completing each part of the assignment. It definitely pushed me out if my comfort zone, because I personally find interviews to be unenjoyable and I don’t like conducting them because of bad interview experiences I’ve had in the past. However, all of the interviews we did for this project were easy and enjoyable! I also really enjoyed using social media for this assignment. I think social media is such an amazing tool for media and I love using it in that way. I believe that social media is becoming (if it is not already) one of the main sources of news for young people and I love being able to explore it! I also enjoyed getting to learn about TCNJ and Ewing, from the exhibits going on at the art gallery to the favorite eating spots of all the students that I now know to give a try. I had fun doing this assignment!
