Reflection Experience

This twitter scavenger hunt is an exceptional way to connect with Students and their reports on local phenomena at The College of New Jersey. I have a way to channel my views and reports on food and lifestyle in the local Trenton area and by using using hashtags I am able to view tweets that other students send regarding campus life. I am able to successfully upload content regarding topics which I feel need covering and reporting and through this experience I further familiarize myself with the skills of HTML and Sandbox blog posting.

I love seeing my fellow students’ views on campus events and Twitter allows for direct and instant exposure for news reporting amongst the TCNJ community. Even before I became a journalism student I would be getting notifications of student life and reactions on Twitter to stay connected in our college atmosphere.

The Sandbox is a great tool to upload content and blogs but it is not without faults. I have experienced difficulty uploading my video interview directly to the “Add Media” tool located on the Sandbox website when creating a post. The video cannot exceed 64 MB of data which is essentially shorter than one full minute. However, I feel that the site itself is very organized and easy to navigate through. The set-up is sensible and logical and have not heard any commentary from students experiencing difficulty understanding the website layout.

I look forward to receiving feedback to improve my professional tweeting and blogging skills after this assignment. I am also very surprised to see how relevant Twitter has become in the world of journalism and that I would be engaged directly in activities with fellow students.
