Reflection
We learned so much on this wonderful journey throughout campus, Trenton, and Ewing. Observing the community from this perspective was truly a once in a lifetime experience. we saw parts of The College of New Jersey that we never knew existed, such as the pollinator habitat, where the college planted flowers for bees and other pollinators to have a safe habitat. It is located in between the track and field. We learned about how iconic certain restaurants were, such as Freddie’s Tavern and the Ewing Diner. We unbeknownst to the fact that we had a diner. We had not the slightest clue that there was an assisting living facility, and we definitely did not know that there was an animal shelter. We learned about the difficulties of getting interviews as some businesses were uncooperative. We learned that a lot of the college’s students do not know Trenton and Ewing particularly well. It was very difficult tracking down students who knew anything about the cities. Clubs such as the College Union Board (CUB) should try harder to get students involved in the community. We saw how The College of New Jersey influences the community and the world with the biomedical printing. Overall, this was a very eye opening experience and we are now more knowledgable about the area around us.
