A little-known fact about @TCNJ : When the Art & Interactive Multimedia Building was constructed, the campus received a grant from the State of NJ for an education project. These commonly called “balls” are actually pixels, constructed by local artist Willie Cole! #JPW250s19 pic.twitter.com/wDcPSCDKn7

Want to know more unique facts about @TCNJ ? Education majors start their observation hours their sophomore year in K-12 schools, student teaching as juniors, and a full semester student teaching as seniors with the Trenton School District. Great sense of community! #JPW250s19 pic.twitter.com/ivTyhbuXbg

The Department of Communication Studies @TCNJ highlights research projects at Kendall Hall. Students have the opportunity to partake in research studies for 0.5 credits each semester. The Social Sciences Building @TCNJ , typically known as the “house of the ologies” because it is home to anthropology, criminology, psychology and sociology, is a beautiful scenic spot on campus. The atrium is an excellent study spot for students to learn and relax! #JPW250s19 pic.twitter.com/o4hMHXtxuh

Victoria Castronovo, a freshman marketing major @TCNJ , said “I knew TCNJ was the right fit for me for many reasons, but one was definitely for its size. No matter where you go on campus, you’re bound to see a familiar face.” Great sense of civic collegiate spirit! #JPW250s19 pic.twitter.com/iGcOORtEPE

I haven't been to Frutta Bowls yet, but this is a place I am excited to still try! This place has definitely created a healthier list of options for TCNJ students. I think it has been creating a positive impact towards the community overall.

I agree with Madeline on this! Panera offers a great selection of choices for any time of the day. The environment there is a great place to study at certain times of the week as well.

Twitter Scavenger Hunt Reflection
We absolutely loved this assignment! We were able to brainstorm excellent ideas and compose tweets in a manner that would both relate and inform the audience. Throughout the exercise, we both discussed careers in journalism and how digital media is becoming more mainstream than ever, so it is certainly important to sharpen web content skills. Our background for our Trenton Daily memos pertained to chronic absenteeism and education, so we made sure to incorporate this topic universally and lightly into tweets; these posts were circulated around the Education Building and Education Department, collegiate student research, educational tips (for instance, promoting a quaint study spot on campus) and the campus community as a whole. As someone who has been sharing digital articles and press publications I have written on Twitter and my digital portfolio, it was great to learn new skills in the process. For instance, I tagged the TCNJ location in some of my tweets and phrased the copy in a way that would pull in readers. I think it is important as a journalist- or, as a social media user in general- to have a sense of professionalism while still holding onto individual personality. Expressing uniqueness in digital storytelling is something I admire and strive to enact and this exercise virtually strengthened this mission.
