Jana’s current specialization is in social documentary and international reporting. Instead of seeing herself primarily as a journalist – she focuses on how to tell stories.

Stories are what keep people interested in reading, and if they’re reading, they’re learning.

After starting out in portraits, and earning both a journalism and anthropology degree, Jana moved onto photojournalism where she has stayed ever since.

If you listen to the interview, at the end she mentions the “Photo Bill of Rights” which was published in the summer of 2020 and received to differing degrees of warmth.
