It can be argued that the print newspaper business was already a fading field before the COVID-19 pandemic. The most successful print companies were either big names like The New York Times or very small, local papers that had constant readership.

Then, when COVID-19 hit more print companies were closing up shop quicker than ever. According to The New York Times, an estimation of over 36,000 newspaper and publishing company employees have either faced pay cuts, have been furloughed or had their newsrooms completely closed.

Luckily, there is a small part of Bucks County, P.A. that is still getting their weekly, print newspaper. The Bucks County Herald has been slowly surviving this pandemic, but not without costs. 2020 TCNJ alum and the Herald’s Operations Manager Quint Meredith is here today to talk about the Herald’s processes.

Quint graduated form TCNJ as a business major and took his job at The Herald about two months later. Since then, he has been able to learn the ins and outs of the business as well as what has helped them succeed during this unprecedented time in history.
