Our Reflection:
Throughout this experience, we have gotten to know the College and the community better.
There are so many different aspects of our time here that we do not even think about twice. For example, Leigha loves the view from her room of the sunset, while Barbara loves the view of the lake.
People around campus are all in their own world, but once you get to talking to some people you realize how unique we are as a community.
We were able to observe how people in our community are able to connect and find places where they can be themselves and express that in different ways. One of the cultural attractions we saw was TCNJ’s Union Latina, where Leigha talked to Frank Fabiano who loves being a member of this club.
We learned more facts and bits of information about the school. For example, how Decker Hall is named after a former professor and the Dean of Students. Also, how unique the STEM building is to helping students learn and grow with new programs and technology.
It was interesting to see how our peers scavenger hunts went too. There were a variety of responses to each task, showing how people have different perspectives and interests. We did not know that there is a David Sarnoff Collection in Roscoe West, but due to Debra’s tweet we were able to find out more interesting information.
Overall, this was a great learning experience for the both of us!
