Marty Johnson – Getting to Know Trenton and Ewing

Martin, also known as Marty, Johnson went to Princeton University to receive his education and graduated in 1981. As soon as Marty graduated from Princeton University, Isles, Inc. was established immediately following. Now Marty is the CEO and Founder of Isles, Inc.; it is a community organization based in Trenton, New Jersey. Isles, Inc. works with many people to help develop and establish better communities for families to live in. This organization works to create better living conditions and healthier environments to be around; it allows the communities to become self-reliant and to work together.

Besides Isles, Inc. there are many other involvements Marty has co-founded and dedicated himself to. Such as New Jersey Community Capital, Housing and Community Development Network of NJ, Building One New Jersey, Success Measures Project, and the New Jersey Regional Coalition. These nonprofit organizations and economic developments that Marty works with also work towards creating safer and healthier neighborhoods for people and their families to grow in. Marty and his organization, Isles, Inc., has been recognized several times for being a model of an organized and well-developed organization that helps build better communities and neighborhoods. It has received awards from widely known organizations, including the White House, the United Nations, and several others.

  • Princeton University – It was not only an education platform for Marty Johnson but also a stepping stone to Isles, Inc.; he now teaches there as a professor in several different courses from time to time.
  • Isles, Inc. Donations – Isles, Inc. allows anyone the ability to donate different amounts of money to their organization either one time or multiple times throughout the year. Each amount donated goes towards helping a community in several ways.
  • Community Leader of the Year Award – In 2012 Marty received the Community Leader of the Year Award which goes to someone who leads a nonprofit organization and has made a significant difference within their communities.
