Interview With Megan Portorreal

Megan Portorreal is a 25 year old magazine writer and editor. Portorreal graduated from William Patterson University in 2013. She became interested in Journalism her senior year of high school when she took an extracurricular class and became the editor of her school newspaper. After high school, she became a writer for Radio Info where she worked from home writing album reviews.

Eventually, Portorreal found her way to Cliché Magazine and became the editor in chief in 2012. Cliché Magazine prides itself on being the go-to source for pop culture news and celebrity news. Most of its contributors are young with fresh ideas.

Cliché is a digital magazine which is something that has evolved very recently with the growing impact of technology on journalism. Megan believes that the most prominent change for her has been social media use. When she was in college, all the hype was Myspace. Now, social media is used much more frequently to advertise and publish ideas.

Portorreal has hopes for the future journalists of America that we keep providing the best news we can, and hope that others are well informed.
