How To Conduct Water Tests

By Heidi Cho

No – I have not. I don’t know.

Over and over, 30 polled future homeowners ranged from 18 to 23 years of age responded like this, with nonchalance and ignorance, to the following questions: “Have you tested water before? Do you know how to?”

Sarah Almeda, a 19-year-old freshman at the College of New Jersey, first looked up the quality of water in Ewing, the town of her college, before coming here – not for her own safety, but for for her (now deceased) pet fish, Oscar.

” it may be enough to kill a fish,” Almeda said.

However, Almeda gave up googling for water quality records

Almeda and I discussed her old high school, Old Milford

“I’ve never thought about that,” Almeda said.

The town of Ewing sent out free water quality tests in the mail

While many knew of the water crisis, only one person could

“Flint Michigan hasn’t seen clean water since 2014,” Laureano said.

This fact

Nicholas Laureano is an aware sophomore at the College of New Jersey, or in slang terms, woke. The interactive multimedia major has lived in Newark for some time,

2. A little bit. I’ve researched about fracking issues across the east coast in the U.S. I lived in Newark for a while, one of the more polluted cities, too.

I’ve also worked with Charity: Water that provides clean water to third world countries, and so this information is relevant to them in a way.

I don’t know how old the pipes of my residence are, but my neighborhood is fairly recent in construction (past 30 years) so I’m assuming it was built with high standards of qualifications.

“Someone actually has!?” Besa.

Aleksey Berg, a Russian professor at The College of New Jersey, continues to drink tap water straight from the faucet.

“It’s better than Russia’s,” Berg said, shrugging.

America’s water is much better
