Throughout the years, blogging has made its impact on professional writing and became a more accepted form of journalism. The blogosphere has impacted journalism history, while also shaping the Internet and the way online readers absorb news. But, with that being said, many are unaware of the origins of blogging and video blogging – which trace back to 1994. This timeline outlines the landmark events of blogging history all the way up to the point where the line between blogging and journalism began to completely diminish.

Within the course of eleven years, the blogosphere morphed into a leading competitor to traditional news media outlets. Bloggers have changed from tech users, using blogs to store links, to actual journalists who devote their love to blogging. Blogging, video blogging, and the blogosphere are an important part of press history to understand and outline, because blogging has now become an accepted form of journalism.
