In the past twenty years, blogs have come to be the best friend of the citizen journalist. Nowadays forms of microblogging, including the popular social media site Twitter, have become the best way for citizen journalism to put out information quickly. From the very first blog, to Janis Krums putting Twitter on the map, to bloggers being considered journalists in the eyes of the law, blogging has changed a lot of aspects of journalism. Citizen journalism has been incorporated into the media, and blogs offer different insights into issues covered in the mainstream media, and it all starts with a man organizing his favorite links on one page back in 1994.
