The Sandbox

1. Purpose of my website:
As a journalist, I want to review and critique makeup brands and their products. I either want to work for a magazine, an online company or have my own blog where I can get paid. With the idea of an online layout, it’s easier for different companies to promote their products. Almost every magazine or newspaper has an online version for their customers to read them while on the go, and that’s key for most companies. If I had a website or a blog to write for, for my job, it would help me gain more followers and views because more and more people are paying more attention to social media. Children are growing up with social media and are strongly influenced with the things online and I think that if I had a website or blog, I would be able to influence children in a good way with different makeup and fashion tips and tricks. If my job was to do something I loved, I wouldn’t work a day in my life. I think that influencing both boys and girls and helping them with something I’m passionate about is something I want to do with my life. This proposal for my website will show what I want to do with my future career and how I want to help people that share the same love for fashion and makeup that I have.

3. Content:
Homepage- The homepage would include a lot of different pictures to get the viewers interested and the latest article posted. I would make sure that the website looks appealing from the start.
About- the about section would include everything about the owner of the blog and if there are any guests writers, they would have their own bio. There would also be social media links in the about page. The about page would try to share everything that the reader would need to know about the writer.
Portfolio links- This section would be dedicated to different links that other writers have been focused in or if there are any other websites.
I would have a whole tab for pictures or videos to make it look cleaner and so there would not be pictures all over the website.
Another tab would have a whole section just for different fashion and makeup tips.
I would keep the social media plugs on every page to try and promote each account.

4. Social media:
My website and company would have almost every social media platform possible. I think that social media is a huge help when it comes to promoting a business because almost everyone has at least one form of social media. Companies use their social media sites to show off their products or the newest things they have released. Bloggers are huge on Instagram, too, because they are able to post pictures about what they just posted and it will intrigue their followers to look at their blog. I think Instagram will be the most important form of social media that my blog will use because most people use that site.

5. There are two different platforms I would use for my blog: WordPress or Wixsite. I have used Wixsite before for my personal blog and I think it is extremely easy to use. I also think WordPress is easy to use and they both create great templates for me to use. The focus will be to https://laurenconrad.com/help people with makeup and fashion tips as well as reviewing new makeup products and share my top favorite products. My audience will be anyone who is interested in music, no matter what age or gender. The content that is important to my audience will be my opinion and make sure I update them with the newest and best makeup.

6. Resources:
The resources I would use are whichever platform I use to make my blog.
I would also use other blogs to see what other people seem to like in a beauty blog: https://laurenconrad.com/ (my favorite blogger).
I would also use the different makeup brands websites to look at what products I should review.

7. I will always be interested in beauty so I think the blog is something I will carry for a long time. There will always be new products coming out, which will definitely help me because I'll always have something to review. I think this is something I will never get sick of because I love writing and beauty and fashion.

8. Timeline:
March 20th- Proposal
April 20th- Website design Draft
May 4th- Final Website

In between each due date, I will make sure my website will always be the best it can be, even though I know everything always needs improvement.
