A Little About Me

February 22, 2019

Hey y'all! My name is Christine Houghton and I'm a freshman at The College of New Jersey. Currently studying journalism, I'm hoping to add a Communication double to my major after this semester with my end goal being a career as a NFL sideline reporter.

On campus, I'm the sports editor of The Signal, our college newspaper, and a sports commentator for WTSR, our radio station.

Here ares the links to my page at The Signal and the stream WTSR:

I love winter despite my aversion to the Christmas season (call me the Grinch you wouldn't be the first).

My love of sports began at a young age. I'm not completely sure how I got put into a gymnastics class but that's where it all began. After a few months of flipping and tumbling, I called it quits and a year or so later started running track for my elementary school.
The next year as I entered first grade I added cheer leading to my list of athletics as I continued running track as I would through my senior year of high school, only breaking that streak to play softball when I was eleven.
As I started high school, I embarked on a new athletic journey; I joined the football team. Since I was about eight years I had the desire to suit up and play, something wisely shot down by my mother.
But as I entered high school and subsequently the football team, I found a community. A community I fought to fit into and by the time I left, was leading as a captain.
Despite the abrupt ending my athletic career came to as I entered college, I still love sports and hope to start a career around them.
