Our Experience
We certainly had a lot of fun going out and taking photographs, but it was also interesting to get out of our comfort zones and actually talk to and film people. We also were unsure how to best put our message out through social media, but after looking through other high school/college twitter accounts, we settled on a bright, cheery tone and think it was very successful.
Unfortunately, the outside didn't really cooperate as the weather was sort of gloomy and rainy which did not make for very good photographs, but we were glad the quality remained fairly good. Also, we ran into the stumbling block of people not being willing to answer or be photographed, but we also thought that ended up being a positive outcome since that forced us to have to search for more willing participants and continue to put ourselves out there. Not only that, but we had several options for some of our tweets and deciding which subject would be most interesting under each header was another challenge we were able to knock out of the park.
Altogether, we firmly believe this was a great learning experience to start to familiarize ourselves with on-foot reporting and had a great time exploring the unique facets of the campus together.
