to run around Ewing and TCNJ to find almost 10 Twitter stories– by the end of it, I realized how simple it can be to find a news story in your neighborhood. From an outsider’s perspective, a student walking by wearing TCNJ apparel may appear like any college student. However, if you initiate a conversation with a stranger, you quickly learn that each person has a different passions and stories to tell. The scavenger hunt made me search for unique angles in things that I pass by every day, like Frutta Bowls. To me, Frutta Bowls was just an ordinary shop that is popular amongst college-aged kids, but when I sat down and briefly interviewed the owner, Kim Arbia, I realized that it was also a community for all fruit-lovers.<\/p>\n
The scavenger hunt also showed me how simple it could be to transform almost 10 ideas into full features and\/or profiles. Each of these tweets could be expanded into full-length stories; all that is needed is more information and more quotes. Again, it goes to show how quick and easy it could be to find news stories within a small radius. It doesn’t require much effort; just a camera and a different perspective.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Jane Bowden The links to my tweets: https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048235836750417920 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048350497680314368 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048322873016897543 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048321133198659584 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048266745302175744 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048324580597796865 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048325272154587136 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048265714103148545 https:\/\/twitter.com\/janebowden_\/status\/1048349973203640320 The links to my top three favorite tweets from my classmates: https:\/\/twitter.com\/JamesMercadante\/status\/1048262565032288257 https:\/\/twitter.com\/IennoJulia\/status\/1048215011640987648 https:\/\/twitter.com\/DianaxSolano\/status\/1048321337285074944 The links to the top five tweets from other schools (I also responded to these tweets): https:\/\/twitter.com\/PamelaPaganoMTL\/status\/1047936510169960458 https:\/\/twitter.com\/CTDPRelations\/status\/1047265323215441920 https:\/\/twitter.com\/ForClassGabbs\/status\/1047186921183571968 https:\/\/twitter.com\/ClaudBarbiero\/status\/1048276094036709376 https:\/\/twitter.com\/katheriboucher\/status\/1048286237210173440 While the task of the Twitter scavenger hunt seemed daunting at first–
