{"id":7577,"date":"2018-09-22T18:24:22","date_gmt":"2018-09-22T18:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pearson.immtcnj.com\/wordpress\/?p=7577"},"modified":"2018-09-22T18:24:22","modified_gmt":"2018-09-22T18:24:22","slug":"getting-to-know-trenton-and-ewing-aidan-brewer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/pearson.immtcnj.com\/wordpress\/2018\/09\/getting-to-know-trenton-and-ewing-aidan-brewer\/","title":{"rendered":"Getting to know Trenton and Ewing- Aidan Brewer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aidan Brewer<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Greg Grant was born on August 29 1966 in Trenton New Jersey.\u00a0 Grant grew up in a dismantled home for most of his life and had to work for the things he wanted in life.\u00a0 In order to provide for himself and his family he worked at a fish market in his high school years.\u00a0 Despite standing at five feet seven inches and 140 pounds Greg turned heads at the local playground on the basketball court.\u00a0 Grant was recruited by Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) to play Division III basketball.\u00a0 Grant played point guard for the lions from 1986 to 1989.\u00a0 In his last collegiate season Grant led Division III Men\u2019s Basketball in scoring.\u00a0 In the same year Greg Grant was drafted into the National Basketball Association.\u00a0 He was the 52<sup>nd<\/sup> pick overall for the Phoenix Suns.\u00a0 While in the NBA grant played a total of nine seasons for six different teams all over the United States.\u00a0 Besides basketball Greg\u2019s passion was also helping the community in which he grew up in.\u00a0 Grant realized the struggles that inner city children like himself face on a daily basis and wanted to make their life easier.\u00a0 Thus, the \u201cGGrant 94FT Academic Sports Academy\u201d was established in 2004.\u00a0 This academy is a nonprofit organization that provides guidance in both the classroom and the basketball court for the children of Trenton.\u00a0 Later in his career Grant was named head coach of the Trenton Central High School Basketball team.\u00a0 There he led the 2013-2014 team to a 27-3 record, Mercer County Champions, and second place in the state tournament.\u00a0 He retired from coaching after five years finishing with a record of 100-32.\u00a0 Greg Grant describes his life and accomplishments in his autobiography <em>94 Feet and Rising: The Journey of Greg Grant to the NBA and Beyond.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GGrant 94FT Academic Sports Academy<\/strong>&#8211; guidance for children in elementary school to high school in both the classroom, also basketball camps, and travel teams approaching the 15<sup>th<\/sup><\/li>\n<li><strong>Career in the NBA<\/strong>&#8211;
