She is a first generation Vietnamese American. Even her brother, only sixteen years older, was born in Vietnam. The point of that interview was not to explore the effects that the COVID-19 pandemic had on Asian Americans, but it was a bit hard to avoid. So for this audio clip I chose to return back to Cindy and ask her to elaborate on her experience.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The COVID-19 pandemic has increased hate, violence, and prejudice towards Asian Americans, you can tell that just by turning on the news, but maybe hearing it from a peer will make it hit home for someone.
