I choose to focus my pandemic project on the AIDS epidemic through the 1980s-90s. AIDS was wrongfully referred to at the time as the \u2018gay plague\u2019, similarly to how COVID-19 is being referred to as the \u2018Chinese virus.\u2019 The responses to both epidemics largely revolved around politics and were (and currently are) influenced heavily by the media representation of the virus.\u00a0
