Military & Overseas Civilian Voting

How to Vote

If the voter is in the military or is an overseas civilian, than that voter can file an absentee ballot and submit it via mail, email or fax to the office of the County Clerk or to the Mercer County Commissioner of Registration.

A military voter includes New Jersey citizens who are members of:

  • Uniformed Services
  • Merchant Marine
  • Commisssioned Corps of the Public Health Service
  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

A spouse of dependent of a member of the military of other uniformed services is also considered to be a military voter.

What is an Overseas Voter?

An overseas voter is someone who is living outside of the United States and who was residing in New Jersey prior to departure. Overseas voters do not have to be registered to vote prior to their departure, but must have met the New Jersey standard qualifications to register to vote.
